FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Stock cabinets are usually built in 3” increments. Custom cabinets are built to fit the space they are going into and can be any width, depth or height.
Many factors affect the final cost of your custom cabinets, and Carter’s will explain the details of your estimate. Our cabinets are not always more expensive than stock units, but when they are, we stand by the added value of superior materials and workmanship. Remember, we’re building and finishing your cabinets to your exact specifications.
Absolutely! Come with your ideas, and we’ll help you design a space that meets your needs and enhances your lifestyle.
Had a fire? Enjoy your kitchen, but the refrigerator fits in the space a little oddly? Carter’s Cabinet Shop prefers to design and create new spaces, but from time to time, that’s not the best solution. Because we make and finish our cabinets on premises, we can probably help you fill in with one or two cabinets here or there, no matter who or what kind of kitchen you have now. These jobs are best completed during our off-peak season, which is generally winter.
As a standard, Carter’s uses frameless construction.
Depending on our current workload and any changes desired by the customer, a job can take 10 to 12 weeks from design to installation. We’ll be able to give you a better idea when you order your cabinets.
Every cabinet will be designed and manufactured in our Roanoke, Virginia, facility. Then your cabinets are blanket-wrapped and delivered in our own truck.
Carter’s does its own installation, which ensures that we can take care of any issues that might arise.
